HACU National Capitol Forum

Each year, two students are chosen to represent the University of Arizona South, an Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), at the annual Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) National Capitol Forum in Washington, D.C. Prior to the forum, students must conduct research about the issues of their community and barriers that students face while attending or trying to attend a higher education institution. The findings will be addressed at the forum and with members of congress and the senate. The key to these strategic forums are annual visits to Capitol Hill, which allow students and university staff to interact directly with key members of the House and Senate. Upon the students return, they are required to present the outcomes of their learning experience at governing board meetings and other university associations.
