SI Mentorship

The Supplemental Instruction (SI) Programs Mentorship model is one that promotes a reciprocal relationship between new SI (Student) Leaders and returning SI leaders in order to develop effective and influential facilitators who are well versed in their content areas and excel in large group facilitation. This model is aimed at supporting new student leaders (NSL) as well as provides returning student leaders (RSL) with a new perspective on course content and facilitation in general through their interactions with NSLs. Its primary goal is to develop student leaders using a collaborative approach. In order to accomplish this; all new student leaders are assigned a mentor (Returning Student Leader) that will guide them through the first five weeks of their position as new SI leaders.
