The UA has always connected students a variety of applied learning experiences. What’s new about this initiative?

It’s true that Arizona Wildcats have long been translating and applying their learning within and beyond the classroom in ways that positively impact themselves and their world. This is why UA graduates are some of the most employable in the world.

For the first time, however, we identify this application of knowledge as central to the UA experience, define our common values around these experiences in the form of Engaged Learning Activities and Competencies, and leverage technology to share our stories and develop greater synergy among our common interests and activities.

We will recognize and track completion of at least one of these experiences on each UA student’s official record. UA students who fulfill the commitment to apply their knowledge and experience to a grand challenge will be eligible for the distinction “Engaged Learning Experience” on their transcript.
